aka, why hardware is hard!
Building a hardware product is not easy, but after my experience of an on-time launch of a consumer product, I felt like I should share my approach. The following chart goes through the various phases of IoT product development (Prototyping, EVT, DVT, PVT, and finally Mass Production). It shows what needs doing, and more importantly who needs to talk to whom, to get everything done in time.
As the project manager on the product, I was responsible for setting the deadlines for each gate and milestones and getting the right people moving in the right direction.
